Search the Database

The Society has created a computerised database that contains a wide range of information about the Fencibles, Empire Veterans and their families who chose to settle in New Zealand prior to 1902. The records have been sourced from a wide selection of records such as Papers Past, church records, electoral rolls, family sources, Archives NZ and other publications. Currently the database holds over 78,000 individual names with extensive covering information. The database can be accessed by members following payment of the resource fee. This fee helps cover the on-going monthly website management costs.

Magazines - The Fencible Bugle

Six bi-monthly magazines are downloaded for members on our website along with previous issues currently since 2019. They contain Fencible and other military related articles, details of meetings and new member interests. Over time we hope to download more previous issues with an index to allow members to use them as a research tool.

Library

The Society has a dossier collection for the Fencibles, as well as a library of books and magazines that are available for research by members at meetings and at other times by appointment.
